What time is 2100 in military time

Military time is the way of expressing time that is used in certain armed forces, as well as in certain other contexts such as public transport and timetables. It is based on a 24 hour system rather than the 12 hour system that most of us are more familiar with. In this system, midnight is expressed as 0000 and midday as 1200.

At 2100 in military time then, we are actually looking at 9pm on the 12 hour clock. This system of time was developed to reduce any confusion or misinterpretation which can easily occur when discussing times over different 12-hour clock periods – such as in the morning and afternoon – and is often used in emergency or crisis situations to avoid such issues.

The numerical structure of military time makes it an effective way to communicate specific times without the need for any additional words or explanations; for example, if one party were to tell another to meet them at 0900 for a meeting then there would be no need to explain if this meeting were scheduled for morning or afternoon, which can be helpful when planning meetings across different countries with different clocks running on various time-zones.

Military time has become increasingly popular among civilian business environments too. With employees often having regular meetings across multiple sites and areas being used by one company located around the world, this method can make it much easier to keep track of everyone's hours while avoiding any miscommunication.
